Have a Lovely Weekend!

Morning y'all! How pretty is that sun room from the October 1981 issue of House Beautiful. They Instagrammed a shot of this the other day and I was all, "yesss the 80s were soo good."  Love the chintz (Brunschwig & Fils Westbury Bouquet) and the blue and white.  They just went for it in the 80's.  And now I'm reminded that I need some glazed chintz somewhere up in here.

In other news, I'm at that point in pregnancy where I could conceivably have the baby tomorrow (doubtful) or in, like, a month (no, please, no).  It's amazing to me that it's still one of life's true surprises.  I'm thinking it will be sooner rather than later, but that could be wishful thinking.  Right now, Edward is watching Dumbo, the saddest movie ever, and talking about how the baby elephant wants to snuggle his mommy.  He's sort of obsessed with it.  I'm sure it has nothing to do with anxiety about sharing his own mommy.  No, certainly not.  It's so sweet and heartbreaking, but he'll be ok once the baby gets here.  For now, I'll just smother him with snuggles.

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

I Will Not Be A Hoarder, I Will Not Be A Hoarder...

I'm selling an Anthropologie tablecloth and a set of vintage turquoise kitchen canisters over here if anyone is interested! If not, that's cool too. I completely understand if you don't want to be a hoarder either.

Baby Things

Morning y'all! Last night I posted a sneak peek at the nursery on Instagram.  I just hung my DIY artwork and my not-so-DIY tissue tassel garland that I ordered from here on Etsy

It's almost finished! I'm just waiting on my crib sheet and a magical fairy to come hang all of the baby clothes that I washed and set on the rocking chair.  As soon as those two things happen (along with a little zhushing), I'll take some pics for y'all! Hopefully next week.

I don't want to build it up too much though.  I kept it pretty simple, since we're not sure how this room will play out over the long term. (Will it be Little Robertson's Big Boy Room? Will it be another nursery? Who knows.  I'm certainly in no state of mind to make those decisions right now.)

Also can we talk about the Duke and Duchess for a second?

a. How beautiful is Kate here?

b. William has never looked better either.

I love how Kate rocked the post-pregnancy bump.  She looks amazing and could have easily hidden it, but she totally showed it off.  She did all of us pregnant ladies a favor.  I may or may not be packing some polka-dots for my Going Home Outfit.  But let's be honest, I'll probably end up leaving in my bathrobe.

Speaking of Going Home Outfits, how sweet is this little wrap sack from Kristaben?

I can tell you, it is the softest jersey fabric you'll ever feel.  Edward had a little pair of Kristaben footie pajamas that I was kind of obsessed with.

Finally, I need a baby monitor recommendation.  We had two Summer Infant monitors with Edward, both of which peaced-out on us.  One never worked in the dark and the other just went black.  Any recommendations would be great!

The countdown is on! Anytime in the next 3 weeks would be great.  I'm beyond ready!

Houses In Which I Could Live, Part 6 {Country House}

Morning Y'all!  I haven't done a Houses in Which I Could Live post in a while.   So I thought I'd do a Country Edition today.

I'm not so much a country girl per se, but I could easily have a house in the country and enjoy it as a getaway (I'm low-maintenance like that). When I saw this listing for Bulfinch Farm in Orford, New Hampshire my first thought was "this would be a great place for Edward to run."  That is usually my goal for most days, find a large space for Edward to run, swim, climb, gallop, etc.

The grounds are beautiful and I love the simplicity of the white house on a sprawling green lawn.  Something about the understated kitchen draws me in, too.  And now I'm suddenly convincing myself I need a house in the country.  #sorrykip

Morning Friends!

Wouldn't this be a lovely spot to enjoy your morning coffee? Pardon the light posting this week.  I just seem to have a lot going on - probably trying to pass the days away quickly so we can get to our own Royal Baby Day!  Yes, I'm soo excited about the new Prince!  You can read my super-emotional pregnant lady sentiments on the subject here.

Have a lovely day!

Have a Lovely Hot Summer Weekend!

{via this is glamorous}

"That's a castle!"

"It looks like Mommy"

"It's beautiful swimming."

                                   - Edward

I'm sorry, but I swoon for my little man.  He has me smitten.  And apparently, he's got a good eye :)  I have a feeling this kid is going to appreciate the finer things in life.  I better prepare him well.

In other news, it's hot, but I'm not complaining.  Because a.) it was way hotter last summer, b.) I have air conditioning and c.) I have neither forgotten nor forgiven the May 2nd snowstorm that happened this year.

Have a lovely weekend and stay hydrated y'all!

I would happily cool off on this most fabulous of yachts

InstaLOVE

Even though I was an early adopter of Instagram (and those who follow me know I LOVE Insta),  I somehow managed to miss the boat when it came to following one of my idols Aerin Lauder.  I'm not sure how this happened, but I'm so glad that I have discovered Aerin's Instagram greatness

If you're not following her this is a lil' bit of what you're missing.

I know, right? You're welcome.
